Our Senior Staff are ready to be there for their campers.
Senior Counselors are young adults and clergy with a passion for camp ministry. Many SCs are former LYFE Campers and/or CITs who wanted to return to camp to help young people explore their faith the same way an SC did for them years before. Meanwhile, others SCs are new to LYFE Camp or camp ministry and have a great deal of interest in helping youth experience faith in relevant, meaningful ways.
All SCs have one thing in common: they understand the impact Christ's love can have on youth and want to help make camp ministry the positive experience it can be.
Clergy and youth leaders who want to join their youth groups for a week of LYFE Camp should contact a Dean about staffing possibilities.

Chaplains help the LYFE Camp Senior Staff develop theologically-sound curriculum and programming before and at camp. They are on-hand to lend specific spiritual guidance to campers and CITs when their faith exploration brings them to new questions about life.
Our 2012 Chaplains were Rev. Kent Johnson (Excelsior UMC, Week I) and youth director and seminary student Chris Carr (Crosswinds UMC, Week II). Both men are proud to return to the camp where they served as Senior Counselors when they were young adults and lend a great deal to our rich history. If you are a UMC clergy member interested in serving as the volunteer Chaplain at camp, please contact a Dean. |
About the Dean
__Deans work throughout the year to create a theme,
programming, and theological direction that unites all weeks of LYFE
Camp. They recruit and train CITs and SCs to better serve our campers to help them better know how to
love God and to know that God loves them.
